Thirsty? Water water water! I could not praise this healthy liquid enough! It’s so important to drink plenty of water. Try taking a bottle with you wherever you go! You’ll feel refreshed, energised and less likely to snack!

Making time for breakfast? It’s a good idea to have something healthy to nourish yourself in the morning. You’ll feel fab waking up to a healthy breakfast and get into a positive pattern of cherishing your morning time! If you choose well first thing you’ll be much more likely to choose healthy options later in the day! Have some fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, grilled mushrooms on toast, porridge, freshly squeezed juice or herbal teas! Pop along to the health food shop and check out their cereal range – you’ll find that a lot are free from added sugar and salt.

Feeling peckish? Grapes are a fantastic healthy fruit to pick at throughout the day. Surprisingly filling too! Buy a bunch today, pop them in your favourite bowl and enjoy the sweet taste!

Morning break? An apple ought to do the trick! I’m a total advocate for an apple a day! I absolutely love these delicious, crunchy fruits. There are so many kinds to choose from and they are so tasty and refreshing! An apple a day helps you work, rest and play! And they really do! Pop one in your bag in the morning.

Want a yummy boost? Smoothies are delicious! And so good for you too! Blend your favourite fruits together, add a little yogurt or milk if desired and hey presto – heaven in a glass! My favourite is a banana and strawberry smoothie. Try orange and pineapple, mango and passionfruit or a strawberry, raspberry and bluberry one. Better still invite a friend round for a smoothie fest! A drink that leaves you feeling good the following day too!

Light Lunch? A really lovely way to eat light at lunch is to have hummus and salad sticks. Simple and so good! There are lots of varieties available in most health food shops and supermarkets. Choose from plain (my favourite!), moroccon, red pepper, olive and many more! Try the unique flavours to see what suits your taste buds! Hummus really is a beautiful food! To prepare for lunch simply cut up lots of cucumber, carrots, tomatoes and celery sticks and pack these with a tub of hummus! Best to keep chilled if you can! Mmmm! You’ll feel fab after this lunch!

Time for a snack? There are so many healthy snack bars to choose from. We’re lucky to have health food shops all around us selling bars crammed full of natural ingredients to give you energy that won’t come crashing down! Have a shop around to find your favourites. I love Naked and The Food Doctor Bars. My all time fave are Gillian McKeith’s delicious range of bars, especially Organic Hemp Seed and Goji Berry! Mmmm!

Cake anyone? Rice cakes are a brilliant afternoon snack! And they’re so versatile! You can have them plain, with peanut, almond or any other yummy nutty butters! Hummus and cucumber, marmite, tomatoes, jam or whatever takes your fancy! Keep a supply with you on any journey and enjoy! I love having rice cakes with a cup of Rooibos tea (lovely caffeine free, herbal alternative to black tea) when I get home from teaching.

Hungry after the gym? Have a banana in your bag! Whilst I was living in Paris and going to my daily Body Sculpt class I always came out of the gym feeling incredibly hungry. I found having a banana straight after my workout did the trick perfectly! Bananas really are brilliant energy boosters and so tasty! Try them with yogurt or a little honey in your morning porridge too!

What’s for dinner? How about throwing together lots of locally bought tasty vegetables, some rice or wholemeal pasta and a homemade tomato sauce (so much nicer than shop bought ones!). Simple and delicious!

Going vegan? Allergic to, or not a fan of dairy? What could be two tastier milk alternatives than soya milk and rice milk! I think they’re a lot tastier than cow’s milk and would recommend them to anyone! I love rice milk with my muesli! So lovely and refreshing! Not too sure? Give them a go! Replace your cereal and tea milk for a while and see how you like the change. There are lots of others to try too such as almond and oat milks.

Caught in a bread rut? Luckily enough there are lots of organic, wholesome and healthy breads out there! Health food shops often sell fresh bread and sandwiches! We don’t need to stop at supermarket supplies. Try varying your bread grains and discover new and exciting flavours! You may find a new healthier kind of bread which you much to prefer to what you’re eating now! Try from rye, spelt, sunflower seed, oat or pumpernickel breads. I love a roasted veg, hummus and salad rye bread toasty! Beautiful!

These tips are great! I definitely agree about rice milk – it’s delicious and lighter than cow’s milk if you ever feel bloated. If you like rice pudding you should love it!

Yes you’re so right Laura! Rice Milk is so delicious and very light! A wonderful substitute if you are bloated. It’s by far my favourite milk.
Have you tried the Vanilla and Hazelnut varieties? Also lovely!
