How can I help you to Wake Up To Health?
By offering you tips, strategies and my own personal experience on what it really takes to be healthy and feel good about yourself. Everyone is unique and so there really is no one size fits all solution, but there are certainly things you can do to help increase your well-being and that ‘feel-good’ factor. Some of the things I want to share with you: yoga, healthy eating, exercise motivation, positivity and relaxation strategies.
Yoga is special and so resourceful that it can help bring you this Mind, Body, Soul Connection. Through Yoga, you can start to Feel Clear in Your Mind, Cosy in your Body and Alive in your Soul. The beauty of Yoga is that it can stay with you through your journey; it can help you to heal, to grow, to love and to find peace.
In choosing to Wake Up To Health, you accept a gift from yourself that you so deserve. You will start to appreciate more and more the beauty all around and inside you. As will you become more aware of how you nourish yourself and the foods that you eat, how you treat your body and the way that it feels, and how your heart is speaking and the message that it sends.
The journey is yours. I hold my hand out to you. Are you ready to Wake Up To Health?

I’m 59 years old and need to lose 40 pounds. And who knows how many inches. I work where there is so much tempting food. I also am so tired after working 8 hours a day 5 days a week that I have a hard time getting myself motivated to get to the gym. I eat all the wrong foods and have become lazy and reclusive. Any hope for me? Any help for me? I am willing to do it. I just need some motivation and direction.

Hello Trish!
Firstly, thank you for your message – your acceptance that you’re not happy with the way you are right now is an amazing step on your path to optimum health. You should feel proud of this! You have a very clear understanding of how you don’t want to be living and feeling – also very positive.
In answer to your questions – of course there is hope and help for you! At any age or time in our lives we can decide to create change and make new healthy habits. It’s now time for a fresh start and outlook!
I ask that you lose any negative self-criticism (which only holds you back on your healthy journey) and think positively. Self-acceptance is very important in being healthy. Start with where you are today and call this day ‘Day One’. Perhaps buy a journal to mark the occasion and get writing! How would you like to feel? What are you trying to achieve? What kind of help are you looking for? What particular advice would you like from me?
We can take things forwards from there. Remember to have a light-hearted approach and to enjoy this journey. Simple steps are most effective, so take each moment as it comes. You seem very determined to restore a healthy life and I believe that you can.
I am very looking forward to hearing from you and helping you.

Hi Rosanne,
Oh yes, our bodies and minds are really influenced by the food we intake, the exercise we do and the thoughts and feelings we give space to.
I love the way you gently suggest a way of living that is more harmonious with ourselves and the environment. The way you write makes it seem so spacious and easy that it’s the gentle nudge I need to let go of the bad habits I’ve recently adopted.
Thanks for being such a gentle inspiration.

Hi Jude,
I appreciate your comment and your kind words.
We really do feel better when we nourish our minds and bodies well, don’t we? It can be easy to fall out of the routine, but something inside us usually calls us back I find. I am always greatful for this wake up call.
I wish you all the best for the New Year, for health & happiness and for leaving habits behind you that don’t fill you with both of these. I have every faith that it will be a fantastic year for you.

dear rosanna,
i read your article in yoga magazine and thought i would take a look at your website. the article really struck a chord with me as i find it difficult to make time for yoga and excercise even though i feel so much better when i do! i have my routine going to yoga classes 2-4 times per week and also to the gym once or twice per week. i would really love to be motivated to start a home practice in the morning before work but i just cannot!..i also love eating healthily but i just don’t seem to find the time to prepare healthy meals…i find your website very inspiring..it’s so nice to see a young girl interested in health instead of just drinking etc!…keep up the good work Rosanna and thank you for sharing your experiences xxx Sarah xxx

Hi Sarah,
Thank you very much for your message and interest in wakeuptohealth.
It can be tricky to find time for yoga, in amongst a busy schedule, but we always feel the great benefits when we do, as you say.
That’s super that you can maintain a routine of going to class every week, as well as the gym, well done! How about starting a short 10 or 20 minutes practice in the morning? Set the alarm for that little bit earlier, and you’ll feel fantastic for it. Do you think you could give it a go? Create an inviting space for your practice that you enjoy being in.
Have a look on the internet for some quick and easy healthy recipes. There are lots out there, and often the meals are a lot quicker to cook than you think.
Thank you for your kind words. I wish you all the best for 2010! Please do get in touch with any questions at all.
